@chubbylugs - I feel your pain...thankfully, with Leicester still having their kit supplied by Cotton Traders, the replica tops have plenty of room for those of us a bit more sturdy than average!

bet you lancaster is going to be critizied heavily by both media and public come next years 6 nations.

He'll be okay, he rang Declan Kidney and asked him the best way to handle that type of criticism...

munster13 - he will. Let's hope his skin is thick enough (I think it is) and that the RFU ignore it as media title-tattle, which it often is.

@ jamesliveinhope - it'll always be Blue, Black and White for me, regardless of the season's fashion!

@ startledwombat - just wondering. The last one I saw wasn't pink. It was more of a putrid yellow colour, although I think it had been white once. It had been decorated on many occasions by the incumbent, but they'd obviously forgotten their brush and paint, so decided bodily fluids would be used instead..!

@apv1, thanks for your biographical enquiry.

I've not seen a prison cell since I changed my allegiance from the Bulls!

Bath a few seasons back dropped white from their home kit. During that period, I regularly watched them disappear into the Recreation Ground gloom in the second half (and watched passes regularly go into touch). I think that there's something to be said for knowing who you're passing to and where exactly he is standing/going.

The complexity of the design, which combines a chevron-like effect, is designed to distract opposition players.

What?? Let's hope it don't make them horny

I haven't bought a rugby shirt since they moved from the traditional cotton shirt to the skin tight polyester variety. Anyone with "big bones" like me just looks ridiculous. As for pink?

Henson was always a bit of an idiot off the field to much celebraty to soon imo .When he was Wales only great hope.SLs appoiontment is good news and yes he might benifit from a mentor in the comming year the oprative word being MIGHT we will just have to wait and see and we have to be very carful in who it is.if any..As to shirt colours who cares surly its the standard of rugby that matters .Also if fans want to look idiots in supporting their team thats up to them its not as if they have to buy the shirts,But im guessing sales of the home shirts have gone up lol

"Whichever publicist thought releasing an autobiography barely halfway through his career would be a good idea for Henson ought to be sent back to PR school."

I have to say I completely disagree with this. I think it was a genius piece of foresight from his publicist. Sell the autobiography while he was still in some way "popular". How many people would waste their money on it now?

My wife saw the Reds on TV. "Who put lipstick kisses all over their jumpers?" she asked.

I am sure some people would say that the Reds' lippy-kissy jumper is worse than the all-pink Bulls affair.

Unfortunately PR has missed the real point of the Bulls wearing pink. In police stations and prisons, the cell walls are often painted pink because it calms people down. Agitated drunkards and violent boofheads settle down when placed in pink cells. What has happened at the Bulls is that after the most recent embarrassing spectator escapade, the franchise's management has said "we've got to do something" and some bright spark has tried to use colour psychology to rein in the worst elements of the Bulls' core fanbase.

@ NHsaints - I hope you're right about Cips. I like him and am looking forward to seeing him in the AP next year and the EPS shortly there-after. But I'm also in agreement with SL's obvious thoughts - be a dick on or off the field and you'll be dropped like a hot potato. Cips needs to wind his neck in and get selected for his brilliant play, not because of his dancing.

@ jamesliveinhope - I like the idea of succession for the coaches via Saxons.

jamesliveinhope says...

"There is a clear alcohol problem here" well no punches pulled with that bit of editorial, obviously drunken behaviour could be literally construed as an "alcohol problem" but the normal inference of addiction is a brave call.

Agree completely with Cohen, doesn't mean that the guy doesn't deserve the job or that he shouldn't receive our support though.

I think a mentor is the last thing he needs, he seems to have Woodward's clarity of thought, he has experience as DOR at Leeds, 4 years as HC to Saxons and has just completed a reservedly successful 6N. There's not many potential mentors that could compete with his qualifications.

Also worth noting that many from the new look England have come through his Saxons ranks. Note to RFU, why not use the Saxons as a succession platform for future head coaches.

What is important though is that he gets his coaching team straight, hopefully Farrell will come across but three isn't enough and its important that his message doesn't get diluted by others.

@APV1 can't really say cipriani is being wasted just yet...despite his terrible dance moves he played a brilliant game on that day and given that his form continues on his return to the premiership he will be competeting for the England 10 jersey again soon...Henson however? He was always a dick, on and off the field, on and off tv...he's got problems and I hope we don't hear of him again...EVER.

On the topic of shirt colours, no mention of the very similar shirts used in the Crusaders v Lions game, possibly even causing one player to pass to an opponent?

Regarding the question about the Bulls' ridiculous colours...

Simple answer: They recently got the same sponsor as the one who ridiculed England with Smartie box colours.

And just like with England they are making tonnes of money from idiot fans wanting the different colours.

"bar a weekend of frequently mesmerising action..." - I'm a Bath fan. Nothing mesmerising from us recently!

Henson - Thank goodness for Cipriani! This will be the last we see or hear from GH, I suspect, so we'll all need another numpty to complain about. Most sort themselves out, but GH is obviously not going to. And with DC's dancing, I'm not sure he will either. Both talents going to waste, which is a terrible shame.

I'm not convinced that SCW is the right mentor. he's very controlling and I suspect will try to (and possibly succeed in) structuring the England set up his way, rather then the way SL needs and wants it. A good mentor advises, assists and encourages their charge. I suspect SCW would instruct and not let SL learn his own (probably the hard) way.

Pink shirts? A topic? If we want a topic on shirt colour, then let's consider England's 7s Team Colour. Or let's bring back the "England wearing black" subject, just to wind up our Kiwi friends!

That bulls set up was upsetting.

They should have gone with... "purple" as mentioned, if they wanted to change. Or even have different coloured socks and shorts.
